PUSHING UP DAISY

Daisy
Pushing you up there above me
slays me
I am the dead
And you're the flower in my flowerbed,
the flower in this bed
Ain't it plain to see
That you're the only
flower in my bed

Lay me
As you'd lay a restless spirit
Make me free
I am the dead
And you're the flower in my flowerbed,
the flower in this bed
Ain't it plain to see
That you're the only
flower in my bed

A fish needs a bicycle to grind it up in spokes and pedals
That's not the kind of oil a bike needs on its chains but you do need me
And Daisy I can be the dead I can be anything, including my remains

Young boys on Christmas Day need water they can live and breathe in
Tossed in the pond they maybe inch it up the shore but you do need me
And so I'm Pushing Up Daisy and I believe I've figured out what I am for
Finally figured out I finally finally figured out what I am
Finally figured out what I am for

So raise me
Take me up into your beauty
- Praise Be -
I can be fed
... to the flower in my flowerbed
the flower in this bed
Ain't it plain to see
That you're the only
flower in my bed

I'm Pushing Up Daisy
and I
Am the Dead.
